Does Orchard Bank Credit Cards Really Improve Your Credit Rating?
May 31, 2007 by lorrelle | Posted in Credit
I have straight been approved for a Gold card from Orchard Bank. This is a secured card, i didn't have to put $200 down. The grounds i have been thinking about using this is i need to improve my credit rating! I have had some problems in the bast due to be of work. Has anyone had any luck with this company? Has anyone had their credit rating improve over time with this company?
As you can mention from the consensus, it's official: Orchard Really does help. I have one myself that I use for everyday purchases. Although I was approved for a annual unsecured card, I had started with a secured card, and I built the limit up by adding to the precipitate. I managed to get it up to about $7,500. I knew that I would get the deposit back becuase I paid either more than the minimum or in full on previously every month. It served as a springboard to help me get another card with an even higher limit. So, whatever you do, assistance that limit when you can, keep the balance low, and pay on time every month!

first main bank wants me to apply for their credit card. is this safe?
They are a ligit companions BUT - they are VERY subprime.
They will charge you so many "non refundable" fees and you will be shelling out a gigantic deal of "non refundable" money for a subprime card.
You would be improve off going with a secured card from places like Bank of America, Orchard Bank or HSBC. At least by prosperous with the secured cards, you will be paying "refundable" money.

What Happens When The Bank Goes Bankrupt? Do You Still Have To Pay Back Your Debt (mortgage, Credit Cards)?
Feb 06, 2009 by Katie G | Posted in Personal Finance
I have a bank endorsed credit plan for Bank of America. What happens if they go bankrupt? Do I still have to pay back the money that I owe on that credit card? What about people who have a mortgage through a bank? Do they have to endure to pay it even if the bank has gone under?
Bank of America is in healthy financial health despite the stock price. BofA is going nowhere anytime in a little while.
If you had a mortgage or credit card account with a bank or lender that went out of business, the assets of that definite would be acquired by another bank or financial group and you would be notified to send your next payment to them, or they would send you a new coupon libretto for your mortgage payments.
Debts do not get wiped out or forgiven because a firm fails. That has never been the instance, and it never will be the case.

Does anyone cognizant of which credit cards charge fees for foreign purchases? which banks charge what fees for ATM flush?
I was in Europe not too protracted ago and by far, the cheapest way to go is use the ATM once you get there. You still pay the "foreign ATM fee" you would pay just like going to an ATM that is not a part of your bank at snug harbor a comfortable (probably around $4.00) which is less than the usual transaction fee to exchange currency, and the best/most favorable the Market rates. This is partially because the bank does not have to keep a supply of the other country's currency.
