bmi present 20000 free airmiles. what are the cons? such as... do you have to use the airmiles before a certain patch? do you have to fly with a certain airline and/or puchase extra flights? must you pay an anual fee ect...regards
I have one with about 47000 miles on it now (no constantly deadlines). You get 1 mile for every £ I think it is you spend on it and 3 for any BMI flights booked, but its only a unhappy membership which is the lowest so no annual charge and no extras such as lounge access etc... are at.
Also you can use the points to pay for flights, but not the taxes. Go to www.flybmi.com and see how much different flights cost and how many points you would for for them to see if it's beneficial to you as quite often the flight may only be say £20 which costs about 12000 points for a hired help, but the taxes are nearly £60, so not much of a saving.
More details on www.mbna.co.uk too. Personally if I'd known at the together, I'd go for a Flybe or BMIBaby card, but I do domestic flights every 2 - 3 weeks.
Are The Airmiles Credit Cards Worth It, Or Is There A Catch??

I will be paying off my bill in FULL each month, so I will not be charged any interest.
I have been eyeing up some airmiles credit cards - like the BMI mastercard and the Virgin Atlantic credit card, but are they as solid as they sound?
I know you get flights for free but have to pay taxes, but i have heard of people getting several flights in the US for around a hundred quid and 20,000 airmiles. As straight away as you spend on the BMI card, you get 20,000 miles as a "bonus"..
So could someone tell me the pros and cons of these types of credit cards?
Also, is there a be that as it may limit with which you can use your airmiles?
And £1 = 1 airmile. Is this literal "miles"? So if a power is 1000 miles away from London, and you spend £2000, could you then get a free restore flight??
Can someone advise? Thanks
The biggest get on tends to be the huge annual fee. There are usually fees for using your miles and you can only start retrieving your miles after you've earned XX,000 miles. Thwart the fine print in the rewards program you're enrolled in.
There are also "blackout dates" (almost always around the holidays and peak travel season) where you cannot use your miles and miles on some cards exhale after a certain period of time. You also must purchase the ticket in advance. Again, check the cool print of the cards and compare these to help make your decision.
i need to book a flight but i only own a debit card. Would i be able to do this online or do i need to go in a travel activity to do it? Or does it depend on the airline? I want to use BMI. i cant seem to find this info on their site
BMI do stand debit cards but when you book you will need to check which ones they accept. Most airlines take Visa,Mastercard and American Clear-cut.

Hi,
I purchase online a lot!!!!! I have just been to book flights with bmi baby and if i pay with visa electron i only have to pay the healthy amount for the flights if i pay with maestro or switch i have to pay an extra £19 and with credit card i have to pay another £24, i think that this is a rip off as normally if you pay with rechannel which comes directly out of your bank you just pay for whatever it is and no supplement.Does anyone know of a bank that issues visa electron cards in the UK????
Thanks
