my boyfriend and i own our home with no mortgage. we have around $76,000 of equity in our home but have bad credit. is there somewhere we can go for a loan that works with the superiority business bureau. i want to make sure its legit.
$76,000 equity is a hallucinate for a mortgage lender. They are loaning primarily on the equity on your house; not as much on your personally. The going clip on a 2nd mortgage ( another word for homeequity loan) is 8.25%. That is a fixed rate for 15 years. WIth bad credit you will pay 9.875%. Pitiable but that is the penalty you pay for your previous mistakes. You can have the money 4 days after you apply.

My credit is unfruitful but I have probably $80k in equity in my home. Will a bank refuse to approve a home equity loan because of bad credit?
If you have bad credit, you are less reasonable to be approved for a loan, or if you are approved, you may have to pay a higher interest rate.
Part of the decision will be based on what % the $80k in equity is of the value of your home. If your home is advantage $800k and you have $80k (10%) in equity and bad credit, you are unlikely to be approved for a home equity loan. On the other hand, if your home is significance $160k and you have $80k (50%) in equity and bad credit, there is a good chance that you will be approved for a loan.
This is because the bank looks at how much they could bring about from your house if they had to foreclose, and if you only have 10% equity, almost all of that could be eaten up by foreclosure costs, so the bank would consume money if they loaned you the $80k and then had to foreclose.

my boyfriend and i have bad credit but we own a $85,000 home with no mortgage. the legislative body is paid for. we were looking into getting a home equity loan to pay some back bills off and do home improvements. is there anywhere that we could get a loan even with bad credit?
Then why do you paucity to put the house at risk by using it as an ATM machine?
You DO NOT save any money paying off bills with the legislature...all you do is take unsecured debt and turn it into secured debt.
Having a free and determined home is one of the most important assets a person can have.
Please work an extra job or something to save up money for what you yen to spend money on. I would highly, highly recommend that you not go that route, especially when you aren't even married...b/c coupling gives you LEGAL protections that you simply do not have, when you are living together.

I went to the bank today and tried to get a home equity accommodation but they turned me down because I had bad credit. I have a stable job that I worked at for over 5 years, I own my home and it is fully paid for. I drive a 2006 Mustang Gt but they still turned me down because of bad credit. I wanted to get the bread to fix my home becuase it need new pipes and a heating system, so i wasnt going to go blow the the ready. My credit isnt super bad but its still not good, is it possible for me to get a home equity loan without good credit. i DONT requirement any online loan stuff or any stuff like that. I LIVE in a small borough with not that many banks and i need this loan before winter. cAN I GET THIS LOAN WITH MY BAD CREDIT?
With you owning the home unambiguously you should be able to get money. You didn't say if you were trying to get a signature loan, mortage or activity of credit. my credit make a hit is very low but i own a $75,000 house with no mortgage. i am looking for some kind of loan so i can do major repairs on my residence but i keep getting turned down due to my credit. i have been at my job for almost ten years and make around $300.00 a week.
Wow, with a domicile that is cash you really should not have that much trouble. Amazing how banks are changing so rapidly.
Keep disquieting, but maybe ask banks for a 5 year mortgage for the amount you need. They don't advertise this, but banks DO offer curtail term mortgages, with fixed rates no games.

and fix anything that is false or outdated if you haven't already done so. Things become outdated after 7 to 8 years.
Also get one credit card, and pay it in full each and ever month for top mark up credit. Carrying a balance reduces credit.
Keep trying, there is no reason you should be getting turned down if your theatre has no mortgage. If you are asking for 20% value they should be throwing it at you.
